This is one of the better episodes I've seen so far. All three ladies wear short skirts throughout the first half, including Hilda's repeated appearance in a ‘Heidi Girl’ style costume with boots. Selma can be seen briefly in a ‘DIY’ outfit with an unsuitable casual shirt tied at the waist (but showing nothing).
Sabrina will become addicted to pancakes, stuffing her mouth with them and covering herself in flour, eventually becoming obscenely inflated and needing to be popped.
The second half of the show is considerably weaker with all trouser suits except the Heidi outfit. Sabrina does wear a tracksuit.
This episode has a lot of charms but nothing too outstanding for the casual fan. The opening scene introduces Selma in a formal trouser suit which, while loose fitting, compliments her well, being also helped by the perfectly styled hair she sports throughout the series and an intriguing mother-of-pearl necklace. Sabrina also appears with hair well styled in a green skirt and heels, which may seem clumpy, but which she pulls of completely well and which suit the period the show is filmed/set in.*
An early scene has Valerie in perhaps the finest makeup we'll see her wear and great attention is drawn to this in explanation, as she has her hair blown by a makeup machine she's invented. There's also some focus on her use of a water fountain.
At eight and a half minutes in, Selma appears again in a superb scene for her fans. She is wearing the same formal trouser suit as before, but with the jacket and shoes removed, revealing her stockinged feet, in order to relax and enjoy a foot-rub. Her armpits are also exposed.
Once Sabrina changes out of her starting costume the show becomes worth it mostly only to Selma fans or fans of costume, as she appears in both royal-wear complete with tiara and up-do hair, and in tight-fitting army gear with T-shirt. Valerie is briefly scene in a gala dress showing some rare cleavage, but it isn't really worth it.
The final scenes has Sabrina a blue mini-skirt with grey woolen knee-highs, but again it isn't really worth it for the amount of time she appears.
* If you still aren't convinced, just wait for the no-less-than-beautiful green coat she later pairs this outfit with
The plot of this episode is centred around Sabrina and Salem getting stuck up Libby's nose, but it's not half as good as it sounds. If you like peddle-pushers then give it a look, as Sabrina wears a pair for about two thirds of the show, otherwise skip it out.
Ignoring Hilda's frumpy track gear, Harvey turning into a hairy ware-beast and the green faced cousin who visits, there's a lot of nice stuff to see here. Sabrina is in a nice ensemble of muted greens with short skirt and wedge heels. We get two nice views of this outfit, first in front of the full-length mirror in her room and at a table in the Slicery. Libby also pops up here in leather boots and miniskirt.
Straight following this Sabrina transitions to a matching black skirt and top with cut white hems and heels. The top is sheer on the arms and back. Before long she zaps herself into a superb strapless black gala dress with long dress gloves and twirls along a catwalk in the kitchen before changing back.
For much of the rest of the show she is in a skirt, but we don't get to see much of it. She end up in a pair of tight-fitting checkered trousers that allow a few nice view of her buttocks.
As a Christmas special this episode is predictably full of unrevealing winter-wear, but isn't without its charms, at least for Sabrina fans. In the middle section of the show she mostly wears a short, off-the-shoulder club dress before changing for a while into a cute tartan skirt and red velvet jumper. For a few minutes near the end she appears in an odd glittery sleeveless dress which features a hood.
The other thing worth noting is that Selma's Christmas-themed costume at the start of the show quite cute, and includes a sheer bonnet over her hair.
Not much to see in this episode. There's a few moments which could have appealed to those interested in the weirder aspects of the show (Hilda's face cubistically distorted, Valerie becoming Sabrina's double, Sabrina in a goth outfit) but such moments are brief, poorly executed or both.
The outfits throughout are cute enough, but hardly worth describing here.
Yawn
Horrible episode, hardly worth it at all. Just skip it, or at least skip forward to the closing minutes for Selma in red skirt/heels. Ugh
Not an amazing episode. The aunts will fall asleep for most of the show, and Sabrina will drag Selma a little, but no outfits stand out very much. The early scenes have our protagonist in one cool get-up, with a silk-like skirt and nicely cut red blouse (also a ring on her index finger). Libby has a nice scene at around 5:30 wearing a leather mini, and wearing it well, coupled with a lime jacket. Once you get past this scene there's nothing notable until the closing moments, which have Sabrina in a black jumper and deep red lipstick
One thing about this episode that really is worth checking out is the special outfit Sabrina wears during the opening credits—a harem-style belly dancer costume with full mid-rift exposure.
Good stuff going on here, right from the start. The show opens with all three main women in their nightwear; Hilda wears a woolen sleeping gown, Selma a lace dress and Sabrina a combo of pyjama bottoms and cotton vest. Sabrina will also dawn a second outfit of this sort later, but replacing the vest with a cut-off sports top.
For the first half Sabrina wears the red mini often seen in Series 3 with a nice pair of beige heels. During these scenes we're also introduced to the guest star, Lisa Darr. If you're a fan of hers this is worthwhile viewing, as she'll appear variously in a librarian's outfit, bespectacled and with hair tied back, in a little black dress with matching heels and in a catsuit once she becomes a diamond thief.
Throughout the show Selma wears cool blue velvet trousers and a jumper that gives the slightest hint of cleavage. Hilda has a nice cameo necklace.
Starts quite well, with Hilda in tights but especially notable for Selma's lovely get-up, with a tight yellow shirt, short green pencil skirt and taupe heels (see particularly the scene from 4:00 for the leg crossing). Sabrina is in an almost cute pink outfit which is failed only by a poor cut of jumper around the shoulders; the red mini makes up for this somewhat.
This is a decent episode for Valerie fans, even though she only plays a minor role. The first half sees her in an endearingly 90s jumper with sleeves below the wrist, paired with a respectable grey skirt*. The second half sees her in a gorgeous laurel green dress with matching heels.
This half of the show also includes a good slip of Hilda's cleavage, Selma in grey heels and Sabrina very briefly appearing in her sleepwear, revealing a second or so of mid-rift. Unfortunately that's about it—the final third or so of this episode is set on an old time prairie with the dourest of period outfits. I guess someone might get a kick out of that, but not this guy.
* And a ghastly pair of wedges, thankfully seen for just a flash, which the author regrets to mention.
